Sheriff Clay Hartley's son gets mixed up with an outlaw gang and could very well end up with his neck in a noose. Harry Carey was one of John Wayne's heroes. He started in silent films and was one of the few to transition well into talking pictures. An interesting note is Chief Thundercloud portrayed the part of Tonto in the serial The Lone Ranger 1938. This was the first time Tonto appeared on screen. This classic movie production is from 1935 an early talking western movie.
