The Trail Beyond
One of Duke Wayne's early B westerns from 1934. Rod Drew receives word that a dear friend of his fathers is in need of help so he rides to see him. When he arrives the man asks Rod to do him a favor and travel to Canada and find his niece. Drew leaves on the train and runs into his old friend Wabi which lands Rod into trouble running from the law along with his friend. So Rod has to dodge the law and locate a girl that he has no idea what she looks like. Lots of fast action and villains to root out in this western adventure film. An interesting side note is Noah Beery Jr. married Buck Jones daughter Maxine in 1940.
