Mr Lincoln is a young lawyer with no experience; he is pressed into service to defend a youngster accused of murder. Henry Fonda as a young man had much sharper dimension in facial feature, as also recognized in The Grapes of Wrath; this enabled him to present a physical appearance of Lincoln which seems appropriate for the time being portrayed. I do not believe that this story is from actual events, however Fonda’s representation of Lincoln certainly captures the essence of what has been customarily revered as the personality of Lincoln.
