They pretend to be a part of it but are really the cattle rustlers. They also want to shut down the orphanage and turn the children into child slave labor. An interesting note is this is recorded as being the third Three Mesquiteers motion picture, when it is actually the fourth in the series. Powdersmoke Range from 1935 is actually the first in the series, with Harry Carey as Tucson Smith, Hoot Gibson as Stony Brooke and Guinn "Big Boy" Williams as Lullaby Joslin.
