Christmas by Injunction western TV series episode starring John Doucette, Tommy Kirk, Thomas Mitchell, Jeanne Bates, Mary Adams, William Challee, James Maloney, Russell Thorson and directed by Felix E. Feist. Written by O. Henry (William Sydney Porter) and screen play by Donald Hyde. This is a western episode of an anthology series from the 1950s. In this episode there is a bit of mystery about the past surrounding John Doucette's character Cherokee. There are not too many Christmas Western TV episodes so this one is a treat. John Doucette has been in many westerns including The Sons of Katie Elder and Big Jake with John Wayne. Tommy Kirk of course starred in Old Yeller and was on loan from the Walt Disney studios for this tv episode. Thomas Mitchell of course was in John Ford's Stagecoach which made John Wayne a star. He was also in High Noon with Gary Cooper, Lon Chaney Jr., Lloyd Bridges and Grace Kelly. As for Christmas movies Thomas will always be remembered as Uncle Billy in It's a Wonderful Life with James Stewart and Donna Reed. This is a fun episode of almost lost television.
